My fourth time to Moscow brought me again to Tverskaya Street’s Intercontinental Moscow hotel. It’s member of the IHG Hotels Group which are hotels that are normally my first choice due to their interesting loyalty program. The Intercontinental Moscow is a luxury five star hotel offering business and leisure travelers a great place to stay. Each year again I enjoy staying there and it’s time to share my experiences with you.

The hotel

The hotel is located just a 10 minute walk from the Kremlin and Red Square on Tverskaya Street. With the new highway you reach the hotel from the airport in less than 30 minutes if traffic is on your side. The outside of the hotel is build to fit the area with elements of Russian avant-garde style just over 10 years ago. Once inside luxury embraces you. Friendly staff makes your check-in quick and comfortable. Also during the stay they are more than helpful and the concierge and budler service helps you arrange anything you would require.

The rooms at Intercontinental Moscow Tverskaya

My booked standard room got upgraded to a Pushkin suite which is an amazing suite. I recommend everyone to sign up for the IHG Rewards Club to achieve status and get upgraded. The Pushkin room has a total area of 90 sq. meters which holds a large living room with desk and sitting area, bedroom, large bathroom, a walk-in wardrobe and a large hall with option to connect another bedroom. The furniture is of excellent quality and comfortable. The only remark I have is the short bed but I must note I’m close to 2 meters tall but I had great nights of sleep. It’s not a big problem, have seen much smaller bets, but just a small remark. The free mini bar for all guests, complimentary fruit and a bottle of wine made my stay perfect.

Facilities at Intercontinental Moscow Tverskaya

The Intercontinental Moscow offers a great spa experience at Five Spa. I did not have the time to enjoy the spa this year but did the years before. It’s truly a place to unwind and have all your stress massaged away. Next to the Five Spa is the modern gym if you are into some work out early morning or during the day.

Dining & Drinking at Intercontinental Moscow Tverskaya

Next to the lobby is the lobby bar which offers a wide variety of snacks and cocktails. Ideal for a business meeting or relax with friends. For dinner you can enjoy the restaurant on the 2nd floor with open kitchen so you can see the chefs prepare your dishes. The restaurant also serves as breakfast area which I didn’t use as I opted to add the club lounge which offers a more private atmosphere. During the day you can work there and get some coffee or tea. In the evening you can enjoy complimentary alcoholic beverages and enjoy dinner. Club lounge is for me important to just get away from all the guests and do my own thing in a private area.

Conclusion

I’m in Moscow yearly and always enjoy returning to the Intercontinental Moscow Tverskaya for my stay. It fulfills all my demands and more. Because I have stayed over the past few years I can with great honesty say they keep up their luxury standard and are improving every year making your stay as guest a true luxury experience.
