Le Méridien Cairo Airport is the most amazing airport hotel I have ever stayed at. I like to puzzle with flights to fly cheap in business class and cheap flights from Cairo made me stopover for two nights at Cairo airport. Le Méridien Cairo Airport made this a comfortable stopover as it’s a resort style hotel and not like any regular airport hotel. I show you why Le Méridien Cairo Airport should be your hotel to stay too when you fly cheap from Cairo or if you visit Cairo and the pyramids. It’s also good to mention that Egypt is very cheap to visit at the moment as the Egyptian pound lost quite some value. Before I do that I’ll share a short video impression I made of the resort.
As I already mentioned Le Méridien Cairo Airport is a resort style hotel. It’s connected by a bridge to terminal 3 of Cairo Airport and terminal 2 is just a short walk. A free shuttle is provided too if you don’t want to walk or if you fly from terminal 1. When I arrived with my family we were quickly checked in so we could catch a long night of sleep. We had an early flight the next morning when we stayed the first time. The second stay we had a full day to enjoy the resort and visit the pyramids at the other side of Cairo. Le Méridien Cairo Airport is part of Marriott International which is a hotel chain I have stayed had more often. I recommend to enroll in their loyalty program too so that you benefit more!
EGYPT- Top 7 day trips in and from Cairo; a 9 day Egypt itinerary
Le Méridien Cairo Airport is a modern 8 story hotel where the guest comes first. On the two lower floors, the restaurants and bars are located. The common areas are decorated with light colors and large windows making those areas pleasant to be at. For the best views make sure to book a pool view room. I had a great stay and so did my family. We all hope that we’ll be able to stopover at the Le Méridien Cairo Airport again soon.
The rooms at Le Méridien Cairo Airport
Le Méridien Cairo Airport has sound proof rooms which is a must at any airport hotel. I didn’t hear any plane at all while I was in my spacious room. This first stay I stayed in a double bedroom as I only stayed for the night. The second stay however I booked a spacious suite with living area and balcony. During the day when I wasn’t away with my family to the pool or pyramids we could enjoy quality time together in the room.
If you have been following me in the past you probably know I need to do some work too when travelling. I just love the nomad life. Each room has enough space, including a desk, to get some work done. Fast Wi-Fi is included if you are an SPG member. This is free. It’s fast enough to watch Netflix movies too but be sure to use a VPN connection if you want to have the same offer as you have at home.
The rooms of Le Méridien Cairo Airport are decorated in light pastel colors. Colors, lights and amenities match the mood the Méridien brand stands for. The bathrooms are spacious with bathtub and rainforest shower. I love those! Amenities are of high quality and all present but if something is missing the staff will get it for you. Have a look at one of the photos in the gallery below, isn’t that living room awesome? I recommend booking a room that fits your travel plans. Go for a standard room if you just sleep at Le Méridien Cairo Airport or a suite if you stay a bit longer. I enjoyed both types a lot!
Facilities at Le Méridien Cairo Airport
The most important facilities at Le Méridien Cairo Airport are the resort facilities. These include the large swimming pool, gym, and a massage room. There are various facilities including banquet and business facilities too but for a stopover these aren’t important. As for the gym and massage room I haven’t used that as I wanted to get the most out of my trip by visiting the pyramids and enjoying the awesome pool.
The pool is amazing to relax at a few hours. It made the stopover at Le Méridien Cairo Airport for my kids an amazing experience. Flights and transiting can be tiring for kids but if they can enjoy a pool it makes my life so much easier. Le Méridien Cairo Airport has amazing facilities for an airport hotel and that’s why you should stay there!
Dining & Drinking at Le Méridien Cairo Airport
Le Méridien Cairo Airport has 3 restaurants and 3 bars. I like to be able to choose what I eat. One restaurant serves as the all-day dining restaurant which is also the place for breakfast. The breakfast buffet is huge with lots of Arabic choices but also Western including several live cooking stations. I love Arabic breakfast as it gives me lots of energy for the day. My son has a dairy allergy and the staff was very helpful advising what he could have and what not. It shows professionalism of the staff if they understand such needs.

The Sparkling Petit Plate is a signature experience at Le Méridien Cairo Airport. It’s served at Latitude Bar and it’s delicious. Who doesn’t want some bubbles in the afternoon? Make sure to try one of the eclairs too!
I tried dinner at both the Lebanese and Chinese restaurant. The Chinese restaurant serves authentic Chinese food which I can confirm it is having been to China several times. The Lebanese mixed grill plate is very delicious and highly recommended. In the evening, the sports bar is a great place to hang out! If you are going to visit downtown Cairo make sure to read my restaurant hotspot guide for Cairo.
If you plan to take a cheap business class flight from Cairo I recommend adding a stopover and visit the pyramids. Le Méridien Cairo Airport will make your stopover, or longer stay, a memorable one. Their rooms are spacious, modern, and comfortable. They have an awesome pool and lots of other facilities including a gym and spa. All food and beverage outlets are a must try. Personally, I enjoyed the Sparkling Petit Plate and the Lebanese restaurant the most. I highly recommend staying at Le Méridien Cairo Airport if you are visiting Cairo; I’m sure you will enjoy Le Méridien Cairo Airport as I did.
