THAILAND – The Sukhothai Bangkok is luxury on six acres of green in bustling Bangkok

The Sukhothai Bangkok hotel is an award winning hotel and member of the exclusive Leading Hotels of the World network. During my visit to Bangkok early April 2015 I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel which is one of the finest in Bangkok or even the Kingdom of Thailand.

The Sukhothai Bangkok

The Sukhothai Bangkok has a contemporary style with details from the old Sukhothai capital of Thailand. A haven of calm set amid six acres of greenery and water ponds in bustling Bangkok. A long driveway is the start to take you away from the crowds. The hotel is surrounded by quietness which gives a great relaxing atmosphere. The outstanding service the hotel provides to the guests makes your stay here over complete. Everything is carried out into detail.

The location at South Sathorn Road is in the heart of Bangkok with all places of interest a short taxi ride away. You reach the airport within 45 minutes by taxi.

The rooms at Sukhothai Bangkok

The rooms at the Sukhothai Bangkok are all decorated with a traditional Thai décor. Each room accessible through various corridors as the building(s) is spread out. I tried one of the executive suites with was very spacious with a great view over the garden. A lot of wood in the interiors gives the room a warm feeling. The bathroom is huge with bath, separate shower and lots of mirrors everywhere. A huge bed which is really comfortable got me a great night sleep.

Facilities at Sukhothai Bangkok

On-site leisure facilities include Spa Botanica with en-suite facilities, a health club with gym, jacuzzi, sauna with steam bath and whirlpool. The 25-metre Swimming Pool with great bar service is set in a great environment to spend the day, at least I did. The hotel also has a squash and floodlit tennis court.

Dining & Drinking at Sukhothai Bangkok

The Sukhothai Bangkok offers fine dining in the award winning Celadon restaurant. The restaurant serves the finest Thai food in Bangkok. A restaurant I recommend to everyone to try! A great breakfast with lots of choices is served at the Collonade restaurant and in the evening you can relax at the Zuk Bar. The Pool Terrace Café & Bar offer health drinks and light menus, afternoon tea and chocolate buffet. Last there is the La Scala restaurant which serves Italian dishes.

Conclusion

During my stay at The Sukhothai Bangkok I enjoyed a lot the perfect service given by the staff. I was surprised by the quietness of the hotel and all the green around it. After a day of exploring temples and busy streets in Bangkok this was perfect for me to rest and re-energize. If you are in Bangkok for a city trip or part of a Thailand road trip I recommend staying at this hotel and I’m sure it will give you a unique experience!
